                                                Bob Mastriana - 4M Company

NOTES

  • The cleaning of the inside wall of the North Portico is proceeding smoothly. It is anticipated it may be only six (6) more evenings to complete the entire North Portico, except for the foundation stones that are going to wait until after the new concrete slab and waterproofing is completed.
  • The Jahn masonry repair patches on the West Portico are matching the color and pattern very well. Most of the dentil moldings have been remade and work on the transom beams is fifty percent completed.
  • The appearance of the stone foundation base of the West Portico is much better than it previously appeared when it was initially cleaned due to the ex-tended drying time of the masonry.
  • The plasterer, Easily and Rivers, could start repairing the plaster ceiling at the West Portico by the end of next week.
  • Lou, Doug and Bob walked the site to coordinate moving the construction fence for the Victorian Weekend festivities.

Lou DeJulia - Mercer County Maintenance
                                                 Bob Mastriana - 4M Company
Commissioner Olivia Lazor - met prior to job meeting to personally inspect
                                                 progress of work.

NOTES

  • Bob Mastriana and Lou DeJulia met with Keystone stone restoration specialist Silvio Diliscia to review the Jahn stone repair being n1ade. The patches look excellent as far as texture and color match and from ground level blend in beautifully with the actual stone.
  • The West foundation stones still look better but excessive moisture continues to work up from both the slab and ground.
  • The cleaning of the interior of the North portico is almost completed and the front gable pediment has also been started. Some pediment stones will need two coats of cleaning due to excessive iron oxide.
  • Time was spend with Commissioner Lazar to show the progress and the highly specialized nature of the stone repair mortar.

NOTES

  • Easley and Rivers, the Plasterer Contractor, will try to start demolition on the West portico ceiling Friday. On Monday they will start on the North portico ceiling demolition and will continue with their restoration work simultaneous with Keystone' s work. Keystone will work on the outside of the portico while Easily and Rivers will work inside underneath.
  • The stone repair is proceeding well. Keystone should be done with the West portico in about a week.
  • Keystone will begin the repointing of the North portico for masonry also this week.
  • The Electrical Contractor was at the courthouse on Monday to coordinate and plan the concealed placement of the conduit for the lampposts.
  • Lou and Jerry asked Doug and Bob to look at the 3rd floor railings to determine how they could be made more secure. Of the four, it appears the East railing is the worst. It will be looked at it in more detail on Thursday with Federal Iron.
  • Bill Cruciger of Roof Rite was at the site on Friday with Doug Wallace to estimate the repairs needed for the West portico copper scuppers and downspouts. It appears they will require more repair than originally anticipated as the back of the downspouts are split.
