Related to the Pennsylvania Automated License System (PALS)

On June 13, 2011, the Pennsylvania Automated License System (PALS) will be activated fully for the sale of Hunting Licenses

• Hunters will swipe their Pennsylvania driver's license through a magnetic reader



• All the information from the driver's license will be automatically filled in on the computer



• Hunters will then select the license and stamps they will purchase



• Non-Residents and individuals who do not have a driver's license will have the data keyed into the computer for them



• A permanent customer identification (CID) number will be assigned to each hunter.



• The first time a hunter purchases a license through this system they will have to furnish their social security number

Mercer County (Hunting) Pistol Requirements :

• This is for the use of pistols for hunting purposes only



• All (hunting) pistol permits must be applied for in person



• The Applicant Must:



• Present a valid hunting, fishing, furtaking license, or a permit relating to using hunting dogs.



• Present another valid form of identification



• Be 18 years of age or older



• A $6.00 fee per permit must be paid to the County Treasurers Office.



• Each permit will be in effect for 5 years from the date of purchase.
