Employment

Pennsylvania’s Child Welfare System is a State mandated, County-operated system.  The provision of child welfare services in our county is achieved through the Mercer County Children and Youth Services Agency.  The Commissioners appoint an Administrator and an Advisory Board who help to determine how these services can be provided to its citizens while adhering to Pennsylvania laws, regulations, and mandates from the Department of Public Welfare.

All Mercer County Children and Youth Services vacancies will be posted on the Mercer County Employment Opportunities page, https://www.mercercountypa.gov/employment.

All appointments are approved by the Board of County Commissioners. After successfully completing 90 days of employment, the candidate will be reimbursed the cost of the physical and drug screen. Candidates must also have current State Police, ChildLine and FBI clearance as a condition of employment. The costs of these clearances are the responsibility of the candidate.
