JUVENILE PROBATION
The Juvenile Probation Department of the Court of Common Pleas operates under the administrative supervision of the President Judge within the standards established by the Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Judges' Commission. The Juvenile Probation Department receives and investigates all complaints and allegations of delinquency, conducts inquiry into said allegations and processes referrals in a manner consistant with legislative requirements set forth by the Pennsylvania Juvenile Act (Title 42. Pa C.S. Section 6301 et.seq.) and Balanced and Restorative Justice.

The Juvenile Probation staff is comprised of a chief Juvenile Probation Officer, Deputy Chief, Intake Officer, five line probation officers, two school-based probation officers, a community-based juvenile probation officer, a community laison officer and a community specialist who oversees the Community Court Program.

Juvenile Probation maintains a cooperative and coordinated relationship with the local school districts, police departments, Magisterial District Judges, and related human service agencies and providers.

  • Scheduling Hearings, Preperation of Pre-Deposition Reports to the Court
  • Management of the Community Court Delenquency Diversion Program
  • Oversight of Restitution and Court Cost Collection
  • Community Service
  • Intensive Supervision
  • Delinquency Prevention Initiatives
  • Case Management of All Delinquent Children which include the Supervision of Children in their Home
  • Monitoring out-of-home Residential Placement
  • Development of Aftercare Treatment Plans to Facilitate the Child's Successful Reintegration into the Community
