Functions


Courthouse Security

Deputies assigned to courtrooms, hearing rooms, or offices within the court structure are given the responsibility of maintaining order, security, and taking custody of defendants who are incarcerated in jail or are sentenced by the court. Sheriff's Deputies also screen people entering the courthouse.

Prisoner Transport

Transports are done on a daily basis by the Mercer County Sheriff's Deputies.

Warrant Service

Mercer County deputies are assigned to the service of county issued bench warrants. Deputies actively pursue fugitives for warrants issued by our District Judges, Court of Common Pleas and Domestic Relations.

C.I.R.T.

The Mercer County Sheriff's Office participates in C.I.R.T., the County Critical Incident Response Team. C.I.R.T. is a multi-jurisdictional team with the cooperation of 8 Mercer County law enforcement agencies, who comprise its members. C.I.R.T. was created to provide resources for law enforcement during critical incidents such as high risk warrants, barricaded subjects, hostage rescue and other incidents where lifesaving resources could be utilized during emergency situations.
